Campus Organic Vegetable Network
Faculty of Science at Sriracha , Sriracha Campus
Details
The project established a network for organic vegetable production and consumption within the campus. Over 15 demonstration plots were set up as learning sites, linked to campus canteens and student cooperatives to supply safe, pesticide-free produce into the university food system.
Training sessions were delivered to over 200 students and nearby farmers on organic standards, pest management without chemicals, and produce quality checks prior to sale. A traceability system assured consumers that products originated from certified plots.
In its first year, chemical input use dropped by over 70%, a network of more than 300 consumer households was formed, and farmer incomes increased by 18% on average. The initiative supports SDG 2 and SDG 12, and fulfills 2023 indicators 34 and 96.
