KU Proactive Policy for Green University Master Plan 2018

As Kasetsart University is moving forward into a new era of Kasetsart University, KU strengthens its green university policy through the adoption of KU Proactive Policy for Green University in 2018. The policy includes the following aspects:

A: GREEN AREA POLICY: to designate the preserved green area, to control the same footprint of new construction on existing building, to preserve KU green area to minimum 30% of total campus, to compensate green area by green roof , green wall, or using green building assessment for new buildings of more than 1,000 sq.m., and to encourage urban agriculture and forest on campus.

B: ENERGY POLICY: to apply energy-efficient lightbulbs LED, and to implement solar farm , solar parking, and solar rooftop.

C:WALKING AND CYCLING POLICY: to have safety for crosswalk and equip with street lighting, to improve the physical environment for walkable and bikable community, and to make convenient and comfort path for pedestrian and cyclists.

D: WASTE POLICY: to manage toxic waste according to the standards and safety, to separate the waste for all campus, to manage organic waste in line with standards and safety, and to encourage the zero waste community, central treatment

E: WATER POLICY: to encourage rain water harvesting and reuse and to collect all waste water to KU
