Details
The Zero-Waste Campus Marketplace was launched as a model of sustainable resource management in campus commerce. Over 40 vendors switched to biodegradable or reusable packaging, and customers received discounts for bringing their own containers.
Waste management stations were installed, sorting five categories, and linked with local recyclers. A mobile app tracked packaging use and waste reduction, creating real-time progress reports.
In its first year, plastic waste decreased by 65%, organic waste sent for composting increased by 3.2 tons, and over 2,100 users engaged with the tracking app. The project supports SDG 12 and SDG 13, and fulfills 2025 indicators 96, 210, and 111.
