Details
This project built a prototype student dormitory designed for net-zero carbon emissions. It featured 350 kWp solar panels, battery storage, and natural ventilation architecture minimizing air conditioning.
The dorm employed solar water heating, rainwater recycling, and eco-friendly materials like fly-ash concrete and sustainable timber. Energy use was tracked via a mobile app.
By 2025, emissions were cut by 1,500 tCO2e annually, energy costs fell 55%, and the model was shared with other universities. The project aligns with SDG 11, SDG 7, and SDG 13, fulfilling 2025 indicators 96, 210, and 111.
