Details

This project developed a pilot waste-to-energy system using anaerobic digestion of organic and cafeteria waste, reducing landfill burdens and generating renewable energy.

The system produced an average of 250 kWh/day of biogas energy for cooking and electricity, lowering university energy costs and methane emissions.

By 2023, landfill waste was cut 600 tons and GHG emissions reduced 760 tCO2e. The project aligns with SDG 7, SDG 11, and SDG 13, fulfilling 2023 indicators 34 and 96.
