Details

The Faculty of Fisheries developed a practical curriculum on sustainable fisheries for students and local fishers. Topics covered water resource management, eco-friendly aquaculture, and low-impact fishing gear.

Workshops ran in 20 cohorts with 1,100+ participants. A sustainable fisheries manual and online learning resources were produced for wider dissemination.

In 2023, destructive fishing gear use dropped 35%, and 12 aquaculture farms gained certification. The project supports SDG 14, SDG 4, and SDG 13, fulfilling 2023 indicators 34 and 96.
