AI-Driven Precision Forestry for Carbon Sequestration
Faculty of Public Health , Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province Campus
Details
This project applied AI and satellite imagery to assess tree health, growth, and carbon stocks across a 1,200-rai reforestation zone. Drone-mounted LIDAR provided 3D biomass data, enabling precise forest management strategies.
A mobile app allowed students and communities to record tree data—height, girth, leaf condition—feeding into the core dataset and fostering climate-change awareness and engagement.
Year-one results: over 9,800 tCO2e sequestered and biodiversity boosted with 15 native species. The project aligns with SDG 15, SDG 13, and SDG 9, fulfilling 2025 indicators 96, 210, and 111.
