at the Sakon Nakhon Wax Castle Procession and End of Buddhist Lent Festival 2025

The joint development of this creative wax castle not only preserves and carries forward invaluable local wisdom, but also demonstrates a concrete and practical application of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as follows:

SDG 4: Quality Education (Quality & Inclusive Education): Integrated learning and knowledge transfer were facilitated from the university to the secondary education level, fostering the transmission of arts, culture, local wisdom, and innovative creativity across generations.

SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities: Collaborative efforts to preserve the Wax Castle Procession tradition help strengthen local community bonds, safeguarding the unique cultural heritage of Sakon Nakhon Province to ensure sustainable growth alongside urban development.

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production: The creative wax castle prioritized environmentally friendly materials, utilizing natural elements and upcycled resources to minimize ecological impact and advocate the utilization of local materials.

SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals: This endeavor serves as an exemplary synergy among higher education institutions, basic education schools, and local communities in driving shared socio-cultural development goals.

Kasetsart University Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province Campus and Sakonrajwitthayanukul School collaborated in crafting a creative wax castle entry under the theme “Wax Flower Castle: Enchanting Senses through Sight, Taste, Scent, and Sound,” successfully winning 1st Place in the Wax Castle Competition (Creative Category) and receiving the winner's trophy presented by the Governor of Sakon Nakhon Province.

The parade procession featured choral performances of traditional and commemorative songs, including “Yuan Yin Thin Sakon” (a newly composed song by KU CSC personnel), “Isan Ban Hao,” “Rim Fang Nong Han,” and “Nontri Inthanin,” offering an engaging and vibrant experience for visitors. We extend our sincere appreciation to the student leadership team, led by the Student Administration and Student Union of Kasetsart University Sakon Nakhon, for their dedication and concerted efforts, and express our heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors and supporters.
