Electric Campus Mobility and Clean-Energy Charging Stations
Faculty of Science and Engineering , Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province Campus
Details
To reduce transport-related pollution on campus, the university piloted an electric mobility system with EV shuttles and e-bikes, supported by solar-powered charging stations. Usage data such as distance traveled, passenger counts, and charging times were monitored for analysis.
The 12-month trial demonstrated a 35% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from campus travel compared to previous modes, with over 85% user satisfaction—especially among students using e-bikes to move between lecture halls.
Findings informed the university's Sustainable Mobility Master Plan and served as a model for replication across other campuses. The initiative supports SDG 7 and SDG 13.
