Details

This project developed climate-smart horticulture greenhouses using AI-driven controls for temperature, humidity, and light. Sensor data guided ventilation, shading, and irrigation to maintain optimal plant growth conditions.

The greenhouses integrated rooftop solar panels with storage, reducing external energy reliance. Trials showed tomato and chili yields up 26% with 19% less fertilizer compared to standard houses.

Within a year, water use fell 30%, net GHG emissions dropped 720 tCO2e, and a prototype greenhouse was shared with local smallholder farmers. The project advances SDG 2, SDG 9, and SDG 13, and fulfills 2025 indicators 96, 210, and 111.
