Details

This project established a dedicated research center for breeding climate-resilient crops tolerant to drought, flooding, and heat stress using genomics and marker-assisted selection, with multi-location field trials.

Researchers collaborated with national and international institutes to exchange plant genetic resources, while 150+ graduate students were trained in modern genetics, database management, and big-data analytics.

In its first year, drought- and flood-tolerant rice and maize lines were developed, boosting yields by 18% under stress conditions. The project advances SDG 2, SDG 13, and SDG 15, and fulfills 2025 indicators 96, 210, and 111.
