Agro-Solar Innovation Farm for Dual Land Use

Details
This project maximized land-use efficiency by installing elevated solar PV systems on crop plots, producing both electricity and agricultural yields. The system used automated tilt tracking and permeable structures allowing sufficient light for crops beneath.
Research studied soil moisture, fertilizer needs, and growth rates, finding that crops like lettuce and mung beans thrived under filtered sunlight, while the PV system delivered 450 kWp tied to campus grid.
First-year outcomes: 630,000 kWh generated, ~THB 2.4M electricity savings, and crop yields up 18%. The project advances SDG 7, SDG 2, and SDG 13, and fulfills 2024 indicators 34 and 96.
